Last week, I had the privilege of attending the International Maxwell Conference and Live2Lead. I’ve been part of these gatherings for years, but this time was different because I wasn’t there alone. For the first time, a large part of our Live2Lead West KY team was in the room with me.
That changed everything. It wasn’t just about me soaking in the wisdom of world-class leaders. It became about our team experiencing it together, reflecting on what we heard, and dreaming about how we can bring that same energy home to West Kentucky.
Do for One
Out of all the powerful messages, one stood out the most. Jesse Cole reminded us to “do for one what you wish you could do for many.”
As leaders, we can get caught up in the logistics, the planning, and the endless list of tasks that come with responsibility. But this principle was a fresh reminder for me. True leadership is about pausing to notice people. It is about making sure individuals feel seen, heard, and valued. That is how we truly “Lead Big.”
At Fulcra, at HOPE Calloway, and through Live2Lead, I want to live this out by being intentional with people and creating meaningful moments that last.
Bringing Energy Home
Our team walked away with a different perspective. Instead of asking only how we could broadcast the event well, we started asking a bigger question: How do we bring the same energy into our own event?
That question has sparked some of the best collaboration and feedback I’ve ever seen from our team. We are already working on ways to make sure Live2Lead West KY is more than just a great event on a screen. We want it to be an experience that moves people. And yes, we have a few surprises planned for December that I think will leave a big impact.
Lead Big
When we step back and look at everything we learned, one theme rises above the rest: Lead Big.

- Lead in a way that inspires others to do the same.
